#1 · Jun 26, 2008 Hi all, I picked up a 2004 A4 1.8T a little while back and its been running good, however, I did have a power window issue a month ago. The front driver side window started going up and down, getting stuck, and not responding. It turned out that the window regulator was broken and needed to be replaced.

Maybe in the morning before work they wouldn't work, then later in the afternoon they would. Perhaps all weekend they'd work, then suddenly they won't.. etc.
So I have a 2004.5 Audi A4 1.8T FWD USP. I have 102k mi. I had my window regulator replaced at 60k mi. Everything was fine this morning when I left San Diego. Nice cool weather. I got to Yuma AZ and it's like 100 degrees right now. I parked my car at the golf course, cracked the windows with my remote, golfed and then got back in a few hours later.
The front driver window one touch does not work but does roll up and down, the passenger front window will roll up and down but the one touch is hit or miss, neither rear window will work from the master switch. If I reach back I can work the switch and they work just fine.
I have a problem with electrical windows not working on A4 avant 2003 year (front doors electrical only). So far I checked wiring on doors (ok), motor works (for windows movement), switch for up &down works (it is ok), no DTC on VAG diagnostic scanner, fuses checked &ok. The electronics in the door get 2x +12v, ground is also there….

try this,put the key in door and unlock/hold over key.windows will go down,then lock/hold over,windows will go up.this resets the windows auto trap mech.(kids fingers)if you still have a problem also try using silicon spray on the runners.NOT THE GLASS..
